Samm Henshaw Unveils Special Edition ‘Untidy Soul’ Vinyl

Today, emerging R&B stronghold Samm Henshaw releases a special vinyl edition of his debut album Untidy Soul via AWAL. An exclusive cream vinyl is also available at Urban Outfitters. The 16-track project was previously released on January 28.

On Untidy Soul, Samm Henshaw gives his old-school brassy tone a contemporary twist with gorgeous bloody tracks like “Grow.” Vibe praised the new LP for its “beautiful conglomeration of influences”, while NPR said, “It’s got that arch, it’s got patterns, it all comes together as a concept statement.”

Samm also recently announced a series of headline dates in the United States as part of his “Untidy Soul” tour. It kicks off at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco on June 3. Please see his full list of dates below.

The son of a reverend, Henshaw grew up with gospel music and began writing worship songs for the church at the age of 15. Naming Kirk Franklin, Lauryn Hill and Marvin Gaye among his early inspirations, he debuted with an acclaimed 2015 EP titled The Sound Experiment (followed by 2016’s The Sound Experiment 2), and soon began touring with artists such as than Chance the Rapper and Tori Kelly.

In the years to come, he made waves with singles like 2018’s “Broke” and 2019’s “Church” – a high-profile collab with Atlanta-based duo EARTHGANG that amassed over 24 million Spotify streams. nowadays. At the end of 2020, Samm Henshaw released “All Good”, an “upbeat and positive anthem” (NPR Music), a collaboration with Samsung UK, which now has over a million streams on YouTube alone.
