Cyberpunk 2077 Developer CD Projekt Red Celebrates 20th Anniversary

CD PROJEKT RED, the developer of Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Witcher Adventure Game celebrates its 20th anniversary – an incredible achievement, especially in the gaming industry. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the company, a dedicated website has been created with memorabilia and behind the scenes from the studio. Players can also submit screenshots, photos, drawings or whatever they can come up with.

CD PROJEKT RED is a video game development company which was first launched in May 2002. Initially, the company was just a video game distributor, but gained popularity after the launch of the series Witcher. Since then, CD PROJEKT RED has released many record-breaking games, of which Cyberpunk 2077 is the latest (although certainly not the studio’s best).

The company thanked the gaming community for their support during this 20-year journey. As a thank you, CD Projekt Red also shared details of their future plans, including:

  • CD PROJEKT RED trivia & facts coming to you every Friday
  • On Wednesdays, memory corridors with special streams dedicated to games
  • Special challenges for birthdays on Mondays and Thursdays
  • And much more

Check out CD Pojekt Red’s official statement on its 20th anniversary:

“Time flies… Hard to believe that 20 years have passed since the creation of CD PROJEKT RED. The past two decades have been filled with adventure, and we’re so proud to have created video games that gamers around the world have enjoyed, not to mention having such a strong and supportive community that has been with us every step of the way. !

“Although our studio was established in February 2002, we chose to celebrate the anniversary today, July 1, because on this exact date, 20 years ago, CD PROJEKT (then known as name of CD Projekt) announced its change of focus to game development. . This is a special date that marks the beginning of our studio as we know it today. This is where our journey to RPG creation has begun, and we think it’s definitely worth the spotlight!”

Although CD Projekt Red has been struggling lately thanks to the disappointing launch of Cyberpunk 2077, they are still an amazing developer with talented workers. To the company’s credit, they’ve worked tirelessly to fix the issues with Cyberpunk 2077. And while it’s still not what many had hoped for, or what was originally promised, it’s turned into a solid title.

Perhaps even more exciting, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the next installment in the Witcher franchise is in development and will be built using Unreal Engine 5. We’re probably years away from its release, but that’s enough to excite us.
